Description
Intel© Trusted Execution Technology
It is a set of hardware extensions to Intel processors and chipsets that strengthen the platform for the digital office through security capabilities such as Measured Launch Environment (MLE) and Protected Execution. It achieves this by enabling an environment where applications can run in their own space, shielded from other software on the system.
Intel© Virtualization Technology for Distributed I/O (VT-d)
Intel© VT Virtualization Technology for Directed I/O (VT-d) extends existing support for Intel© VT Virtualization Technology for IA-32 (VT-x) and Itanium© (VT-i) by adding new support for I/O device virtualization. Intel© VT Virtualization Technology for Directed I/O can help users improve the security and reliability of their systems and the performance of I/O devices in virtualized environments.
Intel© Virtualization Technology (VT-x)
Intel© VT Virtualization Technology (VT-x) allows a hardware platform to be split into multiple virtual platforms. It helps improve the ease of managing the fleet, in order to limit service interruptions and prevent the resulting drops in productivity, by isolating the operations concerned on an ad hoc partition.
Intel© 64
Intel© 64 architecture delivers 64-bit computing on servers, workstations, PCs and mobile devices when combined with compatible software.¹ Intel© 64 architecture improves performance by allowing systems to exceed the 4 GB barrier for addressing virtual and physical memory.
Intel© Clear Video HD Technology
Intel© Clear Video HD Technology, like its predecessor Intel© Clear Video, is a suite of image processing and decoding technologies included in integrated graphics processors. It improves video playback by delivering a cleaner, sharper picture, more natural, vivid and accurate colors, and improved image stability. Intel© Clear Video HD Technology enhances video quality with richer colors and more realistic skin tones.
Hidden
The processor cache is a high-speed memory area located on the processor. Intel© Smart Cache is the architecture that allows all cores to dynamically share access to the last-level cache.
New Intel© AES instructions
With the new AES-NI (Advanced Encryption Standard New Instructions), data encryption and decryption is fast and secure. AES-NI instructions are useful for a wide range of cryptographic applications, for example: bulk encryption/decryption, authentication, random number generation, and authenticated encryption applications.
inactivity states
Idle states, or "C" states, are used to save energy when the processor is idle. C0 is the operating state, when the processor is doing useful work. C1 is the first idle state, C2 the second, and so on. The higher the C-state number, the more energy-saving actions are implemented.
Intel© Turbo Boost Technology
Intel© Turbo Boost Technology dynamically increases processor frequency as needed, leveraging thermal and power headroom to provide extra speed when needed and improved energy efficiency when not.
Max Turbo Frequency
Max Turbo Frequency is the maximum single-core frequency at which the processor is capable of operating using Intel© Turbo Boost Technology and, if present, Intel© Thermal Velocity Boost. Frequency is measured in gigahertz (GHz), or billions of cycles per second.
Lock Bit
The Lock Bit is a hardware security feature that can reduce exposure to viruses and malicious code attacks and prevent malicious software from running and spreading on the server or network.
Intel© Hyper-Threading Technology
Intel© Hyper-Threading Technology provides two execution units per physical core. Multi-threaded applications can do more work in parallel, completing tasks faster.
Instruction sets
Instruction set refers to the basic set of commands and instructions that a microprocessor understands and can execute. The value shown represents the Intel© instruction set with which this processor is compatible.
Intel© Quick Sync Video Technology
Intel© Quick Sync Video technology enables fast video conversion for portable media players, online sharing, and video production and editing.
Intel© vPro™ Platform Eligibility
The Intel vPro© platform is a set of hardware and technologies used to build enterprise computing endpoints that deliver high-end performance, built-in security, modern manageability, and a highly stable platform.
Intel© VT-x Virtualization Technology with Extended Page Tables
Intel© VT Virtualization Technology (VT-x) with Extended Page Tables (EPTs), also known as Second Level Address Translation (SLAT), accelerates memory-intensive virtualized applications. EPTs on Intel© Virtualization Technology platforms reduce memory costs and power consumption while increasing battery life by hardware-optimized EPT management.
Intel© Optane™ memory supported
Intel© Optane™ memory is a revolutionary new class of nonvolatile memory that sits between system memory and storage to accelerate system performance and responsiveness. When combined with the Intel© Rapid Storage Technology driver, it seamlessly manages multiple tiers of storage while presenting a virtual drive to the OS, ensuring that the most frequently used data resides on the fastest tier of storage. Intel© Optane™ memory requires specific hardware and software configurations. See for configuration requirements.
Enhanced Intel SpeedStep© Technology
Enhanced Intel SpeedStep© Technology is an advanced way to enable high performance while meeting the power conservation needs of mobile systems. Traditional Intel SpeedStep© Technology switches voltage and frequency together between high and low levels based on processor load. Enhanced Intel SpeedStep© Technology builds on this architecture and uses design strategies such as separation of voltage and frequency changes, and clock partitioning and recovery.
Secure Key
Intel© Secure Key is a number generator that creates truly random numbers, helping to strengthen encryption algorithms.
Intel © Speed Shift Technologies
Intel© Speed Shift Technology uses hardware-controlled P-states to dramatically accelerate responsiveness with transient (short duration), single-threaded workloads, such as web browsing, by allowing the processor to more quickly select the best operating frequency and voltage for optimal performance and energy efficiency.
Intel© Deep Learning Boost (Intel© DL Boost)
A new set of processor technologies designed to accelerate the use of deep learning in AI. It extends Intel AVX-512 instructions with a new Vector Neural Network Instruction (VNNI) that significantly increases deep learning inference performance over previous generations.
Extensions to the instruction set
