PFU Clear Image Capture
PFU Clear Image Capture is an innovative proprietary technology and is now available on the Ricoh fi-8000 series. Faithful image rendering and color shift prevention achieve OCR accuracy rates and image quality that exceed the capabilities of standard CIS or CCD. In addition, thanks to the efficiency of this technology, energy consumption is reduced during each scan. The PFU Clear Image Capture also captures a wide range of document types from 20 to 465 gsm, including A4 envelopes, cards, passports or booklets up to 7mm thick.
Automatic separation control
Our patented automatic separation control ensures smooth throughput, so organizations can scan large document volumes and mixed batches of documents with confidence. By detecting document weight and automatically scaling and adjusting to size, misfeeds and scanning interruptions are eliminated. This ensures stable feeding even with heterogeneous documents and prevents users from wasting time sorting them. The automatic document feeder (ADF), with its 100-sheet capacity and increased speed, offers employees more efficient, high-speed scanning.

The Ricoh fi-8000 series protects documents from damage with innovative technology. The patented Image Monitoring feature identifies documents that are too tilted in real time and stops the scanning process before they are damaged. Intelligent Sonic Paper Protection technology does the same if it detects abnormal power noises (except fi-8150, fi-8250). The lag detection function ensures that documents feed at the expected speed.

Improved multi-feed detection
Unnecessary stops in the scanning process are eliminated by automatically recognizing and ignoring laminated cards, labels and small predefined attachments. This patented technology is an evolution from standard multi-feed detection which stops when everything beyond a single sheet is identified during feeding.
High speed, high throughput
With a fast start-up time and 90 ppm duplex scanning speed, the Ricoh fi-8000 series delivers a highly efficient scanning process for optimal workgroup productivity. The integration of USB 3.2 and gigabit LAN connectivity also allows for fast file transfer.
Overscan control*
Automatic scanning area adjustment to prevent image loss on skewed documents, eliminating the need to re-scan. Three precisely positioned sensors detect document edges and adjust the scanning area accordingly to fit the document, even if it has been inserted at an oblique angle. Users can scan securely, knowing that the entire document will be scanned every time and no part of the image will ever be lost. *Except for fi-8150, fi-8250.
Urethane Rollers
Urethane rollers resist oil absorption from carbonless paper, unlike EPDM rubber rollers which can swell and affect feeding. Maintaining urethane rollers helps prevent misfeeds and jams for consistent feeding.
Receiving tray
The stacker's ergonomic stacking support neatly ejects scanned documents for faster, easier post-scan filing.
