The UNIDOCKU33 USB 3.0 Universal HDD/SSD Docking Station gives you instant access to your 2.5" or 3.5" IDE and SATA hard drives through dual top-loading slots, saving you the hassle of mounting the drives into a computer or external enclosure/drawer.
Enhanced with UASP (USB Attached SCSI Protocol), this hard drive docking station lets you get the most out of the fastest drives, such as SATA III (6Gb/s), SSDs, and hybrid drives that perform up to 70% better than conventional USB 3.0 when paired with a UASP-enabled host controller. The drive slots hold SATA and IDE drives upright, keeping them out of the way on your desk for a more convenient and tidy environment. SATA hard drives can be inserted and connected using the docking station's dedicated slot. The IDE drive slot is positioned near the 40-pin data and LP4 power connections for easy connection to the docking station using the included IDE data and power cables.
A single USB 3.0 connection to your host computer provides simultaneous access to both IDE and SATA hard drives, providing a convenient solution for migrating data from an IDE drive to a SATA drive or vice versa. The docking station can also be used to greatly enhance the storage and backup capabilities of your computer system by supporting high-capacity drives (tested with 3.5-inch drives up to 6TB and 2.5-inch drives up to 2TB).

Improved performance with UASP
UASP is supported in Windows 8, Mac OSX (10.8 or later), and Linux. Testing shows that UASP support provides 70% faster read speeds and 40% faster write speeds than traditional USB 3.0 at maximum capacity.
Under the same conditions, UASP shows an 80% reduction in CPU resource requirements.
Testing was conducted using an Intel Ivy Bridge system, a StarTech.com enclosure with UASP, and a SATA III solid state drive.
